Thanks to Louise Johnson, the teachers at Maple Grove, and the WFNS for inviting me back for another day of Writers in the Schools workshops at Maple Grove. I had a great time introducing students to sci-fi and fantasy storytelling.

Writers in the Schools Visit – Maple Grove
A big thanks to Louise Johnson and the staff and students of Maple Grove Education Centre. Louise invited me to speak as part of the WFNS Writers in the Schools program. I had the privilege of presenting on sci-fi and fantasy to four groups of grade 8 students. There was lots of lively discussion and really great story ideas from the students. Principal Sean Kenney also posted a short interview with me on the MGEC Facebook page.
The WITS program still has funding left for this school year, so visit their site if you want to book a presentation at your school.

Best American Science Fiction & Fantasy 2016 (which includes my story “Headshot“) has been nominated for a World Fantasy Award for Best Anthology. Congratulations to Karen Joy Fowler, John Joseph Adams, and all my TOC-mates! The winners will be announced at the World Fantasy Convention in San Antonio, November 2-5.
